The response from the PHP community since phpLiveDocx was launched has been exceptional and the traffic on the backend LiveDocx server has been really high.

One concern, however, which has come up time and time again, is the cost of the backend service.

After some very long discussions with the management of the LiveDocx Service, I am delighted to announce that as of today:

LiveDocx Service can be used completely free of charge..

There is no catch: the free version of the LiveDocx Service is identical to the version, which has been online since January 2009, with one exception: All methods which are related to sharing documents have been deactivated.

The company behind LiveDocx is still selling the LiveDocx Appliance, which I would recommend, if you intend to generate many thousand document per month. However, for all other applications, the LiveDocx Service can now be used completely free of charge.

If you are new to phpLiveDocx, please take a look at the following articles:

They illustrate, step-by-step, how to create your first project with phpLiveDocx. Getting started with could not be easier: The sample applications, included in the downloadable files, demonstrate all of phpLiveDocx functionality.

Awesome! I am using phpLiveDocx to generate telephone invoices for our members. For the time being, the free service version is perfect for us. However, should we get more customers (and thus need to create more invoices) I would be interested in the commercial version.

Nice. Thank you. I have been playing with phpLiveDocx for about 2 weeks and like it a lot. Being free of course makes it much cooler :-)
