One of the most common tasks for phpLiveDocx lies in the conversion of word processing documents.

To illustrate this functionality, I have just released a new sample application, which allows you to upload a word processing file in one format and convert it to another.

The following conversion combinations are available:

To review the source code to the actual conversion part of this sample application, please take a look at this post.

Remember, as of last week, LiveDocx Service is completely free to use, hence, you can add such conversion functionality to your own applications for no cost at all.

There are quite a few of these document conversion sites on the Internet. I like this one as a) it is free and b) it offers a wide range of file formats. Thanks! Peter

Ohh, no more convert DOCX to TXT…. ‘-’

    Hello Raffael

Thank for your very valid comment. It was an oversight on our behalf that * to TXT was deleted. We have just corrected this issue and you can now convert any supported file format into TXT.

Thank you very much for pointing this out :-)

I am confused with all the computer lingo. Just want to convert Abi to MS word?

    Please respond

@Chris AbiWord can do that. You can also use AbiWord from the command line, hence you can automate its usage, for example, in a PHP application.
